游走美国 MY VISIT TO AMERICA

Dear teachers and schoolmates, dear all.

      I am Zhao Yanzhi from Class 8, Grade 7. Today my speech is My Visit to America.

      I visited America with my parents at the end of the summer vacation. The first stop of our trip is Los Angles where we visited the Universal Studios of Hollywood. The Studio tour is an adventurous tour, and I learn a lot about how to make films like King Kong. The special effects show tells us how to fight, make fire and make strange sounds with daily stuff. Here I felt the advanced technology in America and their entertaining mind.

      Then we flew to Boston. Boston is a university city in which Harvard University and MIT are the most famous. Harvard University has a long history similar to Cambridge University. But MIT is a bit modern with colleges of advanced technology. I like the city very much and I hope I can study there someday preparing for serving our country. At last we went to New York by train. We visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the four biggest museum in the world. I enjoyed a lot of wonders including an Egyptian temple and a Chinese painting on the wall. They are so grand and great.

      America is a developed country with a lot of advanced technologies for us to learn. However, the public transportation in America is not so good as in China. For example, the subway in America is old and dusty. And there is no air-conditioner in the station so we always become sweaty when we are waiting for the train. But the underground in Guangzhou is much modern and it is clean, cool and comfortable enough. I'm sure that the world can be peaceful and beautiful if countries can understand and learn from each other.

      我是初一8班的赵言之。今天我讲话的题目是：游走美国。

      上个暑假快结束时，我和父母一起去了美国。旅行的第一站是洛杉矶，我们首先参观了好莱坞的环球影城。影城之旅是一次冒险之旅，我学到了很多如何制作像《金刚》这样的电影。特效节目告诉我们如何假打、生火和用日常的东西发出奇怪的声音。在这里，我感受到了美国先进的技术和他们的娱乐性思维。

      然后我们飞往波士顿。波士顿有很多大学，其中以哈佛大学和麻省理工学院最为著名。哈佛大学有着与剑桥大学相似的悠久历史。但麻省理工就比较现代，拥有很多尖端技。我非常喜欢这个城市，希望有一天我能去那里学习，学习美国的先进科技以报效祖国。最后我们坐火车去了纽约。我们参观了大都会艺术博物馆，它是世界上四大博物馆之一。那里有很多像埃及神庙和中国壁画这样的艺术品,非常壮观和伟大。

      美国是发达国家，有很多先进科技值得我们学习。但美国的公共交通却比不上中国。例如，纽约地铁又脏又破，车站里居然没有空调，等火车的时候我们热得满头大汗。相比较而言，广州地铁现代、干净、整洁，而且温度随季节而调整，让人舒服。美国之行让我初步感受到：中国和美国各有自己的先进和现代之处，大家应该互相学习，这样才会互相促进和发展。
